Funny this is actually from Usopp's very very first appearance at the beginning of the damn manga.
And people still claim he is not brave..
Dudes, his actions speaks for themselves.
He severally lacks self confidence and he becomes his own worst enemy because of it as the manga progresses, but even that he over-comes.
And there are so many times he faces up to enemies, way stronger than him, knowing that he is out-matched by far, and then pushes through regardless for his friends.
Kisshu
Miss Merry Christmas
Perona, just to mention a few.
And we can't forget he stood up to God Enel for Namis sake, TWICE! true he got his ass handed to him at both occasions, but he didn't budge and stood up against self proclaimed god, and on second occasion actually saved both Namis and Sanjis life.. not brave my ass, that's what he keeps telling himself, not what his actions proofs.

Hetalia and Black Butler nowadays.Though I did

Oh that's a shame you feel like that.
Unlike Naruto and Bleach where it felt like the air just went off the balloon and never came back to being really good, where the One Piece manga is right now. as in litterately where it is right this moment, it's soooo good.
Took a while for the manga to re-find itself after the time-skip I admit it, Fish-man island was light fun on purpose and in Punk Harzard the manga struggled finding itself anew so for one piece it's a pretty "Meh." arch, it tried and there's some good bits in it, but mostly just "Meh." for the standard of One Piece.
But this Dressrossa arch, oh my gooosh, we are back to the glory of one piece filled with laughter, hype and tears.
Genuine tears because things get to be so emotionally involved
And genuine laughs, god dammit the biggest laugh I ever had reading a manga came in this dresrossa arch, I litterately had to stop reading just so I could finish laughing, it was just... Oh god Usopp no! Poor dude wont you ever catch a break? on the same times, AHAHAHAHA! That was so funny XD
Funny you mention those two series, i am right now sitting watching black butler for the very first time.. huh.
It's pretty good!

again not serious, just fan goshing, because I am a giant nerd and love the hell out of one piece.
And yeah, if nothing else Black Butler has all the hot action with definit gay undertones in a way a girl like me can't really mind.
Plus all that other really neat stuff.

Usopp has his moments of courage. He's smart in that he knows he's not as powerful as the others, so what would be trivial to them, could deadly to him. UNFORTUNATELY, what Usopp lacks is self-confidence in the times where he can be helpful, and thats the bad point with him.
Well "offially" Oda gives a hint at the end of Thriller Bark, when he has both Usopp and Luffy claim its the end of the world when Nami gave some (hardly 1/4th )of her treasure to Lola. Is that your other sign of the end?

Usopp is unorthodox, many of his skills are tested on the field and are crapshots at best. But I'm a big payoff guy myself. His Goal is to become a great warrior, and if he take's up a knife, axe or sword(Probably wouldn't use it much, but would know how to) and starts wearing viking clothes(Maybe he'll get some from Elbaf)...and bulks up a 'little' he'll do just that.
Unfortunately we might have to wait till the end of the series to see him as such.

Yeah he's one of my favorites too.
Same with Luffy and Brook.

Ahh Brook, being stuck at sea surrounded by the corpse's of his dead crew for decade's of isolation had no lasting effect on him.
...Except his constant need to prove he's not dreaming by provoking people to hit him.
He's a kinda deep character actually, and hilarious.

Still, thats good for a guy that NEVER recieved any combat training, like Luffy has from Garp ...and possibly Dadan who Garp left Luffy with at age 7-8.
