Description
When I say "cartoon," I mean it in the traditional sense of a sketch for an ultimately larger, more finished work. I plan to do a picture of Dorian Gray in oil on canvas as the final for my painting class. I should like to also do a grotesque version to show his cruelty and perversion later on. As it is, a 2X4 foot canvas is quite a lot of work, so I think I will wait on the second image until I complete the first.

Anyway, this drawing was just an experiment to see how well I could translate the image of Dorian from my mind to the page. I think it's successful apart from my feelings that his eyes are a bit too small. It's difficult to correct in a coloured pencil drawing, but once I move on to the canvas, I will most certainly make that adjustment.
