Once upon a time, lived a young mare named Oath Keeper. She lived peacefully in Ponyville, making and selling puppets and toys for the fillies. But one day she met the stallion whom was supposed to be the love of her life. Things went quickly between them and she was soon about to marry him and give life to a baby. Sadly the stalion, afraid of all this, ran away, leaving her alone and gravid.

Oath Keeper choosed to keep the baby despite her sadness and tried to move on. But when she saw during a fun fair in Canterlot her old love flirting with another mare, it was the final straw.
The shock, the saddness and the pain made her ill and she lost the baby before it was born. The sadness became anger, then hatred: she've sworn to avenge her baby and herself and started to study witchcraft to help her. She found made a potion to change herself into a powerful pony and she became like this.

Her mother, upset about her actions, sent her away and since then she's jealous of Calavera...But to fight loneliness, she created fillies which looked like dolls, to replace her baby...And so is born the species of Ball Jointed Ponies.

After renaming herself Rotten Vow she now wanders in all Equestria, trying to find her love to make him pay for his crimes, and punishing all the bad fathers/husbands of the country. The broken puppets in her mane suck up their souls. Sadly, she's unaware of Candelabrum's love for her.
