Description ::EDIT:: Looking at the snake bit again, I realized there really wasn't any way for there to be belly scales showing in the front coil without him being twisted around like a slinky. This bugged me enough I had to go back and fix it.

Trade with , featuring her sunbeam snake naga character Pipedream.

I had a lot of fun doing this! As soon as I as saw the guitar in the 'sneezing' picture, I knew I had to do this pose.

Various photo references used for pose, snakeness, etc. Not the lizard though. The lizard is all mine.

I'm happy with this, it came out more or less how I wanted it to look, though it does have a few issues. Pipedream's colourfully eyes kinda dissapeared when I resized it though..

Opencanvas 1.1 + some touchups in the GIMP.

This one's really interesting... the iridescence is great, and I like the 'postcard' bit in the middle... but there seems to be a line running through some of the bits that poke out of that colored background, except for Pipe's body. The trees and guitar have it, though.... at least through the highlighted portions.

I don't really understand what you mean? I've gone back and stared at this pic and all I've noticed was that I forgot to blend the ocean to the right of the trees.
Unless you're referring to a compositional thing? In which case I would concede, as I don't know much about composition.

Hm... it might have been my monitor settings, because it doesn't show up on this one (my work 'puter). At home it just looked like there was a bluish line through the lighter bits of the trees... but since this one doesn't show it, then it's likely not on the original and thus my problem and nothing you have to fix. LOL Sorry about that.

That's really cool looking. You did an awesome job on the snake scales. Very nice looking piece.

Gahaha! Like? I LOVE. Eee, this turned out so excellent! You did the iridescent gleam on the wings and the scales *perfect*. Which is impressive, because I know from trying that there's just no easy way to cheat on that And the brown undertones are awesome because yeah, that's what color the snake looks like when not in the sun. Oooh, and the background. So simple, yet so lovely.

Looks great! Thanks so much! Well worth the wait.

P.S. Teehee. Lizard.

those scales are great, loving the effect on them, especially from the thumbscale where they look a little sharper. The tail is a little irksome to me, its hard to tell if its a weird shape or just so turned on itself that it looks weird, and i think the image would have been a little broken up more if the upper body was slightly lighter than the lower, but thats me being picky.

Loving the wings, and the background. GJ

Yeah, I get the tail thing. I tried to explain it in my reply to Raporix above.. As for the upper/lower body colours, making him all a single dark colour agrees with both my stylistic preferences [link] and the original character. [link]

Its kinda hard to tell if he rotated his body or not... but I see underbelly scales on the closest coil, and if you follow the flow of his body, those underbelly scales should be on top...

But I can see the faint hinting of the upper portion being flipped over...

Perhaps the edges of belly scales closer to his humanoid torso would've helped?

>_< Ack... sorry... just... wanted to give you constructive criticisim... you didn't ask to not get any... *hides* please don't hurt me for stating my observations...

No, no, critisism is fine. I'm surprised I don't get more of it, actually, I know I'm not perfect.

Anyway, I can see how the positioning of the snake body can be a little unclear. I'll see if i can explain my resoning of it..
If he had human hips, they would have been tilted to the side as if he as sitting on his right hip, and had his left left lifted to support the guitar. I still have a little line there represent the spine (and top of the snake body), it does twist around from there.

..well, it made sence to ME. I guess I should have made sure it would make sence to everyone else. Thanks for commenting!
