Goodness, this is really nice. The colours of the background deliver a very strong depressing feeling, and the figure itself...well painted, the colours and the proportions are really good. Nice work!

Beautiful pic, I really like the style and technic. It has an almost rough feel to it that suits very well with the pose and mood of the subject

beautiful. It has a nice sketchy feel to it, and the blue/purple background contrasts well. I'd love to see more like this.

very cool piece. i really love the color scheme and texture. the figure's posture is great and has a lot of emotion to it but i'm not sure pensive is the word for it. it seems sadder than that maybe. the figure's face is also kind of confusing to me because there is a darker spot that looks like it might be an eye but it doesn't really fit and yet it looks more like an eye than a regular shadow. just my thoughts. really great piece

I really like this. I haven't seen the album artwork that inspired it so i can't comment on that. You've captured the whole 'deep in thought' expression well in the figure. I love the pose, and also the way the figure is in block form, which is different. Also i like the sketchy look the painting has, it's very effective. Great work

Mm, I really like this! The lines and colors are really what speaks to me on this. I love the idea of being pensive with such a dank air to it (I'm thinking that probably because of the color scheme). Gosh I wish I could leave something more constructive for you to read. !

Very nice work, from the color to the composition the whole thing comes out with a very nice effect. It gives sort of a rough smoothness if you know what I mean...

Great job

This is very good work. I love the style, your brush strokes create a lovely texture that sweeps across the page and gives the piece a wonderful wind-like movement. The real star of this show is the model-like figure, his body language exudes emotion and suits your β€œpensive” theme perfectly. Great stuff!

This is great, I really like the lighting that you put into it and the colors as well. And there seem to be so many emotions that you can draw from the guy,

I am impressed.

Awww . . . I love when people draw "Mr. Man," as I call mine. I really love the colours and lighting techniques you used. They make this picture very dramatic. Awesome job!

Thanks... the whole image is invented. No references, I don't even have a "Mr. Man" as you say

So the puppet has lost its strings.

I haven't seen the album you mentioned, so I see this picture as being fairly open to interpretation. Nice shading, though it seems like the wooden man needs a bit more seat under him to support his leg being stretched like that (extend the bench, basically).

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

CaliburlessSoul In reply to neurotype-on-discord [2005-05-12 02:34:10 +0000 UTC]

the bench can't be extended... if it shows up between his legs it screws up the view of the hands especially. Visual clarity goes straight to hell, and that would suck
However if you use you imagination and suppose the bech continues right up to the point just before the end becomes visible again I think there's plenty of room for his narrow butt
