So there I was one day.

And..suddenly... I cannot explain it at all, I do a lot of unexplained things because sometimes I think I'm not from this planet, but.. I had this...crazy urge to draw Megara, from Disney's Hercules.

Hercules is by far one of my favourite Disney movies EVAR, and it's a shame that they don't do movies like that anymore and have resorted to annoying computer animated fluffy animal movies. They've really lost thier magic...

I've always wanted to draw Meg, but for some reason the urge was most severe this time and I decided to finally do it. I just love Meg - she's so...AHHH! I love her attitude, and her un-whiney female role and how she's not the helpless female and she actually has a brain. And her in-denial attitude is just great! So I've decided to do my rendition of her, and here it is

I'm really happy with how she turned out, minus a few things.. like her.. hand..on her hip.. is...awkward. I dunno where I was going with that, I was a little lost. Actually I think I know what I was trying to do, it's just my crappy inking probably ruined it. (Yes. That's right. Blame it on the inking.) Her hair was a lot of fun to do as well as her outfit in general Her colours, meanwhile, confused the snot out of me. I went through several reference pictures of Meg before decided that, after all the references I used, that her hair was this dark auburn brown colour, and that her dress was like a lilac colour, and the strap thing was a darker lilac colour. You wouldn't believe how many different shades I've seen on Meg, so it was really confusing and I didn't quite know where to go with the colours but I just did my best and thats what I came up with. I suppose the best thing to do was probably watch the movie and get the colours there but... See I think of that NOW, several weeks after finishign this picture. XD

Anyway, so here she is. I originally only drew her with one foot, the one on the ground, but...I thought she looks really...strange... so when I was inking the picture I drew the bottom of her other sandle up there so it looked like she was walking or skipping or something. It didn't look so strange after that. I also gave her chicken arms like mine. XD

I'm going to scare you all now. I'm going to really scare you out of your mind. I actually like the inking here.

GASPSZOUNDSWTFWOAH!!!!!

I know!! I know!! It's so strange, isn't it?? I dunno why, but I just like the inking, it actually doesn't look it's normal crappy self and...It... it actually somewhat enhances the picture! 0.0 The scan isn't that bad either, but it really dulled a lot of the colours. My scanner was having a bit of an off day that day so it didn't have the energy to maim my picture. I should be greatful... it doesn't have these days often.

The background was done with a bit of a new fun watercolour technique I made up... I think I've used it before in some pics I've posted recently, basically I take some watercolour paints, dab a peice of toilet paper (it's just more easily accessible, okay? XD) with water, and then just dab the paper with the colours on rather then paint them on. I really like the effect it gives and it's fun to do I also have more control over the colours too! So I really like the background on this one. Simple, but I like the colours

So yes, it was fun doing this rendition of Meg I don't do fanart often, but when I do I like to pick characters I find interesting and Meg was definately one of them. Hopefully Disney, once they release that new Animated movie The Frog Princess or whatever, will continue to do more animated movies..

Because computer animated animal movies are lame.

(Computer animated toys talking and going on adventures on the other hand.....)
