Description
"I...I'm just not sure."He sat rigidly at the table, eyes blindly affixed to the crumpled bills set out before him. More money than he'd seen in all his life was now staring at him from beneath a thin cage of fingers. It was his. All his. Just so long as he transported the cargo and kept his mouth shut. So easy a task! When he put it that way, he wondered how he could even hesitate.
And yet he was frozen in place, not daring to reach out his hand as if he feared it would meet the devil's in contract.
She saw this fear and smiled.
"Dahlin, I hate to see you hesitate," she began slowly, "It seems to me you don't fully understand what I'm proposing..."
She paused, taking a long draw from her cigarette.
"All this money, yours. Say good bye to those gambling debts, dahlin. In fact, say hello to a brand new car, 'cause this much money will take you that far." She leaned towards him, sharp eyes burning eagerly from the shadows.
"And all I ask of you is to move a bit of...delicate cargo. Discreetly of course. With no questions asked."
She pushed the crinkled bills toward him. Whispering through a ribbon of smoke she added,
"What do you possibly have to lose?"

I saw this ages ago, and god only knows why I didn't fave or comment back then.
I'm so glad I've found it again though, and you. Because this piece definitely deserves more of my attention.
I love everything about it. The brushes/texture (that wool! Like I could reach out and touch it),
The dark background which somehow adds so much to the scene, the expressions and body language,
The perfect, simple, colourscheme. And then of course, there's the description.
It's so difficult for me to find well written anthro stuff. If you don't write more, you definitely should!
The imagery, the intrigue. asjdhaskdhk I want more. I'll stop gushing now but really, fantastic work. ^^
