Description Wynd, the first Ringworld.

Conveniently 16:9 for your downloadable convenience.

Not sure if done, but done for now. I was poking around with the stars tutorial on A Redtail's Dream because, y'know, I'm willing to try learn things, and this is what happened. I do use textures sometimes, this one is one of my own. It happens to be included in one of my free texture packs, the watercolor one. Especially when I'm in the middle of a lot of commissions I sometimes like to stop and do something for me.

This is Wynd, at night. I don't normally imagine it at night, so I started trying to think of what it would look like... and then this happened. I imagine this is Aryana Archwynd's first view of the place, as she stumbles out of the wastelands and sees for the first time a strange, glowing thing and can't quite tell, is it a city, a factory, or a tiny gate... and for the first time ever, thinks, what have we done.

Art for Stargazer's Gate, which should be launched in the nearish future I SUCK AT THIS but it's gonna happen. Yeah. It'll be a SFF, science fiction/fantasy hybrid and it'll be awesome if I say so and I DO. There's some more art for it poking around in my gallery anyway.

So, what is it? Is it a teleportation device like the Stargate from the Stargate franchise?

I guess so! I'm unfamiliar with the Stargaze franchise so I wouldn't know how their functionality works. There's six worlds and there's a corresponding gate on each side, and they end up being used as teleportation devices between worlds, but they're really more like... sentient energy storage devices and a side effect is that they link worlds.

Stargates serve as conduits for wormholes that can be opened up anywhere there is another Stargate (even in space). There are endless numbers of potential end points (as long as you have the ability to build Stargates). Transportation between them is generally painless, causes no harm to solid matter and most forms of energy, and is near instantaneous.

Hmmm, okay. There's a fixed number of these, they're sentient so they can't be built, they're definitely not potentially finite, and Archwynd's gate on Wynd only links to Archwynd's gate on Damera, etc, you definitely can't go to any one of them. So, a similar concept. Any similarities are definitely inadvertent, though.
