I really like this one too. I've done abstract work on tears, as a way of processing my own sadness. I really value tears, and i feel like our (patriarchal) society de-values them, but i've learned that they are SO important to our emotional and mental health. I like how you have put these two ideas together - that tears are both a downward flow, as they wash down our faces, and come when we are feeling sadness - but also there is this buoyancy, as the tears wash away all the dirt and detritus that keeps us down, and lighten our mood, and help us to come back up to a more balanced state. I think there'd be a lot less depression and anger in the world, if we were encouraged to experience our tears, rather than encouraged to either ignore them, stop them, or feel ashamed of them. I find, when i don't cry about something, i instead get deeply depressed, or very angry - but when i stop and have a good cry, then my feelings lighten, and even if i'm still sad about whatever it is, i can better move on, rather than stewing about it.
I sent a request to add this piece to the in the Abstract Expressionist Folder.
Some of your work seems more Abstract Expressionist, rather than purely abstract, coz it seems to represent an idea or feeling - which is something i personally really like, i think it's a great way to present feelings you can't talk about with words - but i also see value in achieving art that is purely, completely, non-representiational, which is very hard to do and still make it have an internal logic that makes it art. You can do both, so i really admire you.
