Wow, what a douchewaffle.Β I feel pretty lucky; I've never been trolled particularly hard, and the last time I was trolled here, it was actually a trans man taking offense to me refusing to ID as a disorder! (He was just the LOVELIEST little asspain too.)

I'm very very lucky as well, I've barely received any of the negativity that is out there and never felt threatened or that my life was in danger, like some transgender people do.
Wow, that is incredible. I am with you on that front to be honest as I feel the word disorder, like disability, focuses far too much on the 'dis' part. It has negative damaging connotations, and I prefer to stay positive.
Of course some people really need their diagnosis as well, it empowers them and helps them to make sense of what they are going through. So each to their own, but there is no reason to be an asspain about it!

I admittedly have gotten more harassment since becoming legally disabled, but I still feel comparatively lucky.Β As for the 'dis,' it's not so much accepting my limits that I have a problem with, so much as the weird expectation that that's ALL THERE IS.Β That my very EXISTENCE has to be a disorder, when I'm like, "No, bad things that happened to me in the past, combined with the way I dealt with it, caused me to build some maladaptive coping mechanisms that I'm trying to shit."
My diagnosis was needed--if I didn't, I wouldn't be getting the money I need to survive--but I really wish folks wouldn't be like, "YOU DIAGNOSIS IS YOUR LIIIIIFE." It's like, you know I have hobbies too, right?

I really like the way you have worded that. No matter what it is be it disability, race, gender, sexuality etc if you have a protected characteristic some people will always see that characteristic as the whole you. It's a large part of you, but not all.

I have to confess, it's difficult for me - a lesbian, whose dating my (mtf) girlfriend - to remain calm and polite in situations like this. Primarily, when they feel the need to correct my pronoun use when I'm speaking about her.
But all I know is a lot of people in the trans* community have wonderful senses of humor, as I've seen. I guess after such a long time, you just have to roll your eyes and chuckle at it all, with your thick skin. Her and I just aren't there yet.

I'm sure your girlfriend really appreciates you staying calm for her and not wasting your energy on morons who refuse to be educated on anything. You're right, I think most trans people do develop a kind of 'stand back and laugh' attitude to a lot of this stuff.
I wish the two of you all the best, and you know what? If you feel rage then maybe you should just be enraged. Some people do respond to anger, some people even apologiese though it's not often.
Thank you for sharing your story with me though, I wish you and your girl all the best for the future. *hugs you both*

2. I absolutely ADORE your arguments! <3 though you just know that they'd be lost on them, because, again, toss pottery, it's hard to smash through.
3. Sallie is flawless <3 Hahaha, straight to the point!
4. Make more comics - MAKE A WEBCOMIC, 'cause this is awesome and the world needs more of these <3

Forgive the late late reply to this comment, but thank you! Sallie is indeed amazing and hilarious when it comes to this sort of thing. She has a talent for comics (like you!) that I can not quite grasp myself so it was good to have her help me with the pacing here.

My word. XD;
The commenter was very rigid in their narrow minded opinion, but never mind. I drew some humour from it which made me happy. <3 Thank you for your comment once again!

You wouldn't expect someone with a unique 'taste' as theirs to be a bigot, but hey. Takes all kinds.

I'm just happy that while you're over there being mature and gracious and calm, I can be over here like "Lolderpbitchyloltrolololol"
I love this comic and am going to make a new icon with it!
