This little guy is a swamp wallaby, a common macropod here in Australia. They're like a kangaroo only smaller, and I've always loved their beautiful colouring. (And gosh it was hard to work out which particular wallaby he was!)For the slightly-studious minded--
There are three main macropod groupings - kangaroos, wallabies and pademelons. (And if you've never seen a pademelon, I feel for you. They are ADORABLE and small.) Kangaroos and wallabies are mainly differentiated by size, and their smaller pademelon cousins can be differentiated by size & a thicker tail.

This guy looks snuggly. I like how sharp everything is.
As for critique, you should focus more on the eyes being in one of the thirds of the image - rather than directly in the middle (vertical/horizontal).
So, I would have put more of the wallaby in the frame, with his main (closest) eye further to the bottom right corner. This would draw the viewer's eyes to his, then to his nose, up along his back (which would curve a bit, and the leg (not seen atm) would 'bounce' the eyes up the arm again. This would take it back to his eyes, and repeat the cycle. If that makes sense.
