Description Inspired by , , and Brian Engh, I had made a chart showing four main types of sauropods in the morrison formation. When there is multiple similar family groups all competing in one area, they would most likely be very colorful in real life to make the problem a bit easier. Also, I added descriptions describing their possible niches they would take in their environmentΒ

Were Apatosaurus and Diplodocus present here as well?

Yes but I used brontosaurus and supersaurus instead since they are in the animal’s family group when I drew it at the time

no I have a hypothesis for how ceratosaurus survived;
it lived in the woods and hunted the creatures there, while leaving the others to eaten by allosaurus and torvosaurus

CameronDillon In reply to Timoshauru5-VII [2018-02-05 05:31:51 +0000 UTC]

Very good hypothesis. There are some theories that ceratosaurus even hunted near water and ate fish to avoid competition with the bigger predators of the morrison

haodrinundu hypothesised they were venomous which also made sense as they had long teeth..
But I solved the mystery!Β Β Β

Oh, Brachiosaurus lived in drier areas I thought it would prefer the edge of the forests. That would explain why their fossils are so uncommon...Β

Brachiosaurus was probably a migratory animal so I added a way where it would go in drier areas, but also look like it can belong in forests on occasionsΒ

AndreOF-Gallery In reply to CameronDillon [2017-11-17 09:37:51 +0000 UTC]

well, I thing we are both correct. It could be migrating from one forest area to another.

CameronDillon In reply to AndreOF-Gallery [2017-11-19 03:40:00 +0000 UTC]

It very well could since brachiosaurus is one of the biggest sauropods in the morrison formation and that it would need to travel vast distances to get to large towering trees.Β

As long the sauropod isn't chest deep, it will do fine crossing rivers and other bodies of water.

You missed the joke, he was referring to how there's a river drawn under the Supersaurus's feet in the picture but it isn't affecting it at all.

Great chart, by the way!

Comedy jokes aside, I really like this work. Really aids in actually bringing these animals to life a little more. Plus, the colors are amazing! Great job!

That is covered with supersaurus. I didn’t want to do every diplodocid in the Morrison so I used one diplodocid for a general idea of the pattern that the class of sauropods would have.

CameronDillon In reply to Spinolover2017 [2017-11-15 04:34:12 +0000 UTC]

Amphicoelias is a bit difficult to reconstruct because we only have one vertebrae and a supposable femur and determining the exact size and appearance of this sauropod requires a lot of analysis and research. I can try doing this sauropod if you wantΒ

Morrison sauropods never fail to grab my attention. Is the Brachiosaurus' neck feathered or is that just the pattern?
