Description This massive space station is located near the most heavily traffic route in the sector. It can hold a whole task force and it can do some minor or major repairs to multiple ships at once. It also has two large domes on the "wings" that houses the station crew members families. They have their own promenade that contains recreational facilities, schools, and dinning places.

She started her service to Starfleet just like any other looking starbase but due to the heavy traffic they needed a solution.

They first started by detaching the docking section from the rest of the station then built an upside down section then reattached the other half.

A few months went by and the problem came up again. Starfleet sent a mobile construction yard to the station and then went to work building the new lower section that has the same type of dock system that is at the top of the station but with a new lower section. The mobile construction yard went back home afterwards.

Five months later the exact same problem happened yet again.
Back to the station went the mobile construction yard and they were to build two new sections that the station and construction crews called "wings".
Three months later they were done building and attaching the wings and she looked incredible.

She originally was called Omni but after the massive refitting that she under went she was renamed Omni One. The first time in Starfleet's history that a station was given such a honor.
Three weeks went by then a smaller problem reared its head.

Ships were frequently asking why they could not do any major repairs. So Starfleet built six dry docks then had them towed to Omni One for installation at the bottom of the transport tube which went under major modifications for the new units.. Afterwards the lower tube was designated for repair and ship crews only. So the upper tube had major rescheduling and more transports to and from the statin core and the docks.

She was FINALLY done.

It's the most heavily traffic route all because of the Rainbow Nebula.

Not that the nebula produces rainbows but due to its constant shifting spectrum it is some times called the "Rainbow Nebula".

People would come form light-years around just to see the majestic beauty.

It does have a drawback for its incredibal beauty. Every five months for three weeks "the storm" occurs. Large plasma discharges intrfere with shields and targeting systems. They even shoot from the nebula and produce awesome bolts that in Omni One's service she only got hit once, and it was to one of the repair docs.

Scale: Doors are capable to allowing Galaxy Class star-ships to enter.

Man, that is one big station! I wonder how many people it could accommodate? I can see from all the big doors that a lot of the internal space must be given over to ship berthing, but even so it looks like it could hold a hundred thousand people at a pinch.

The layout is quite elegant and balanced (unlike my little design [link] ). It would be interesting to see a CGI build of it, but it would take a braver man than me to attempt it.

Nice work

I stand by my earlier comment stating that this is awesome. I love the awesome and rich history you gave this Starbase. Would you mind if I include her in my 26th century Star Trek Rp?

Great design, soon as I get my computer up and running again I'll take a shot at modelling it, I really like the history you've written to accompany it too

When you do make her place her behind a large rainbow nebula.
Not that the nebula produces rainbows but due to its constant shifting spectrum it is some times called the "Rainbow Nebula".

It does have a drawback for its incredibal beauty. Every five months for three weeks "the storm" occurs. Large plasma discharges intrfere with shields and targeting systems. if I build it it will be just that, it will be down to whoever renders it to decide on background.

Just wondering how my "little" station is coming along.

Simple answer - its not. Cancelled along with several dozen other projects due to ill health.

Holy kitbash batman, it's enormous! That thing can probably fit half the fleet inside it!

Half the fleet, until DS9 decided to blow the fleet sizes WAY out of proportion.

Anyone remember Wolf 359? Biggest disaster in Starfleet history (at the time)? 39 ships? Yeah, so how come DS9 has got like 15 fleets, with 100+ ships each? I think NOT. (actually, the only reason for that is so we could see many ships blown up like Star Wars fighters, every other episode.)

Thanks to DS9, this station makes sense. But I prefer to not to justify the Dominion War, so I say:
HOLY OVERKILL, DUDE!!!

She houses more than Starfleet ships to.
