HIIIII! i watched this video by tppo on youtube where he talked about this technique by umibouzu where you just draw in two hours a complete piece instead of focusing TOO much on details that weren’t the point of focus… for example i didnt rlly give much thought to the brick on the left since i knew i was gonna blur him out, the background i just copied off of the original picture reference lol I AM NOT GETTING PAID okay

so basically, rough, simple sketch with scarce lines > lineart > base color

and from then i started with the hair cuz i rarely get to render colored hair (i am always drawing my sona who has black hair so it’s kind of boring to shade), then the skin which i think turned out pretty cool, the shirt i also heavily referenced from the og picture and lastly just lots of overlays and tiny touches like the cyan in his eyes (complementary colors or something like that idk color theory) and the extra strands of hair for an extra pizzazz!
