But are you sure he had only one leg? I often see birds standing on one leg, hiding their other leg.

Or did you see it jumping around with only one leg?

Thanks Jan. I intentionally watched him for quite a while because I often see birds standing on one leg, especially when roosting, but he never put a second leg down despite moving around so I think he really did have just one leg. It didn't seem to bother him though.

I was shooting a jackdaw some months ago and on all the pictures it looks like he only has one leg, too.

I love these birds, I reckon they must be my favourite, pretty much.
They have the look of a policeman on the beat, but at the same time, behave like hooligans.
They seem to go away at certain times of the year and I love when they come back and start raising a rucuss on my back garden again.
I had to protect my chimney from them tho', they blocked it up very successfully once with their nesting material....

Yes, they have that lovable rogue character don't they. I don't think Jackdaws blocking chimneys is an issue for Harlech castle anymore.
