Description This is not the best drawing- but I think its a decent enough rough sketch.

Marcus Cato was Caesar's most implacable enemy. Some say that the Civil War was Caesar vs. Pompey, however I think it would be more accurate to say the war was Caesar vs. Cato.

Where Caesar was renowned for his generosity, friendliness and forgiving personality, Cato was Strict, morally upright, and Stoically cold as a person. Cato hated Caesar from day one, and could never acknowledge Caesar's victory, taking his own life after the battle of Thapsus. Cato however remains a famous figure as the "defender of Republican virtues."

Although Cato was famous for living a simple peasant life, I felt that I wanted to go for a more traditional Senatorial lady. Yes, I know glasses didn't exist back then, but I think I threw authenticity out the window already .

I really like this design as well! It really gets the point across--one could see this woman clashing with the more ostentatious Ceasar over subjects of bedroom morality as much as politics!

Damn, where the hell I've seen that face before, really reminds me of somebody but can't really remember who. Gotta be the glasses... hmn. Anyway, another really nice and interesting design, not only the intricate style of the dress but also that expression, really strong in a moral way, like a very conservative but combative lady.
Pretty neat.

She bun and glasses are of course fantastic ways to get across her rigid and upright character - someone old-fashioned. I llike the 'corset' of sorts around her waist - if that was the intention, it definitely helps make her seem...
