History:

(Summarized Version)

"Woke up in the forest smack in the middle of elven territory, amidst a murder. Held captive and presumed the murderer Celes remained in their care. Which was waves better than she thought it was going to be. She learnt of the world through them, including what a protector was and the racism against humans as a whole. Eventually she was able to escape with the help of those she befriended in the town and made her way to Elledolias. "

>>>>>>LONGER VERSION<<<<<<<

For a moment Celes woke in the darkness, sinking deeper and deeper and then orbs of light began to surround her, and a whisper of a voice. It guided her and when she opened her eyes; Celes found herself in an unfamiliar place, in a dense forest with a sword she had never seen before in her hand. Unknowingly, a mass of soldiers gathered behind her, bows and swords ready. She had arrived in Aesthia in the worst possible moment, amid a murder scene.

Injured and captured by the elven army, Celes was held captive, sort of. She had expected a prison cell, especially with the looks of concept many of the elves seemed to express and others ignored her altogether. Though she didn't particularly care one way or the other, what intrigued her more was the murder. Who were they and why were they murdered; the thought of solving such a case...made her hands itch with glee.

During her stay, she met three elves, the ever-mysterious Enraiha. A silvery haired elf clad in layers of silk and a crown of flowers that seemed to grow from her own body. She explained the workings of Aesthia and of how humans had suddenly arrived on the whims of a god. Celes wasn't quite sure what to make of it, she had never been the god believing type...at least she thought she wasn't? Enraiha brought her tea and books to read but, refused to answer any questions regarding how long she would have to stay here.

The second was Semryu, a young red-haired elf, with a turquoise teardrop earring that matched his eyes. He was kinder, more used to humans than the others. He would often come with an elven doctor, who refused to heal Celes but made sure her wounds didn't get infected. Perhaps it was their way of apologizing for hurting her; honestly, though Celes doubted that. When Celes was finally allowed time outside, Semryu would always be around, guarding her. Enraiha joined on occasion, mainly with lunch or some sort of treat.

The third and final person, Aleios Irla. He said very little but his silence spoke volumes. No one trusted her, because she was human? When he did speak it was short and to the point. He didn't fall for her charms like Semryu tried to ignore. He didn't indulge her in her whims, wasn't swayed by her teasing or harmless flirtation. His calculating icy colored gaze followed her. Which would have been more interesting; if he wasn't such a bore. When her wounds finally healed, Celes learned that the case had been solved. The fact they didn't seem interested in seeking her help...was quite irritating. She was a detective after all. (Wait. She was? Whelp, that was something new.)

One night, with the help of her element, Celes snuck out from her "lodgings" and returned to the scene she had woke at. Time had passed and little remained of the event. The blood was gone, the bodies buried. Only the tree remained and the sword. She frowned as she touched the top of the blade with her index finger, it was a shame that such a fine blade had been reduced to a rust trap in the forest. (She was a bit fuzzy on how she knew so much about swords... a worry for another day, perhaps.)

The moment was ruined by an elf she had never met before, and while he looked harmless on the surface; his eyes were filled with a fierce hatred when he looked at her. He was older than Aleios, she suspected, but how much older she couldn’t be sure. Elves were a strange lot after all. When asked how she got out of her “cage?” Celes felt irritation swirl around inside of her, but as she went to answer, suddenly another elf interrupted them, Aleios. Basically saving her from a sticky situation.

The elf swayed as he stepped closer. He smelled like booze, though she doubted he was drunk enough to do anything too stupid. He scoffed at them, muttering under his breath. He left them easily enough, Celes tried to sneak away, but elven ears were definitely far too sensitive without the use of her shadow manipulation. Aleios turned to her; his hand rested on the hilt of his sheathed sword, and he didn’t appear to be in any hurry to use it. So, she asked just what, “he intended to do with her.”

Aleios remained silent, another moment passed in silence. His gaze seemed to go right through her, it sent shivers down her spine. Aleios gave her a faint smile, “what indeed...” That... wasn’t the answer she was looking for. He “escorted” her back to her room, instructing her to shroud herself into the shadows as she had done when she left. (So much for sneaking out...) He started coming around more often after that, why; Celes wasn't sure but she didn't mind his company, in fact, she rather enjoyed it. With the help of Semryu and Aleios Celes learned about the task of a protector, and as she didn't have plans on staying in the village forever; she asked how she could become one.

One night, Celes woke to find Enraiha in her room, she hurried Celes to get ready to leave. That Celes's situation had changed and she needed to leave immediately. Confused Celes complied and she was taken through an underground passage to the outskirts of the village. Along the way, Enraiha told her that the two families had grown tired of the fact that the "murderer" of their children was still alive and plotted with one another to kill Celes. Even with Celes denying that she killed them, it didn't matter. Most of the elves weren't keen on humans and some even enjoyed the thought of murdering all of them.

The further they moved away from the town, Celes grew more worried. She didn't recognize this part of the forest at all, in fact, it seemed as if Enraiha was taking Celes deeper into the woods, not out of it. She stopped and when Enraiha beckoned her to keep moving she refused. Enraiha's eyes faltered and as she tried to convince Celes to keep moving, eventually the elf gave up and Celes tried to return back to the village, maybe, if she were careful she could find Semryu or Aleios. Arrows flew out of the darkness and in Celes's direction. A magical wind spun around her protecting her and then carried her backward; within moments she was in the arms of Aleios. Relief filled her, and worry she hadn't realized she felt before seeing him.

After a battle, they fled. Semryu was safe, far away from the town. Aleios took her far from the it, to the edge of the forest and told her travel to Elledolias, where she could be safe and live her life, free. He was hurt and the blood wouldn't stop; Celes didn't possess healing magic but she didn't want to leave him. She couldn't. In the end, she left him under a tree and told him not to die. Eventually making her way to the village that Aleios spoke of and became a protector. She never got her answers about the murders, never knew why Enraiha betrayed her (she had never felt any malice from her)...more importantly... did Aleios survive? Perhaps in time she'll find the answers she seeks.

Earth History: LOCKED

Relationships:

Aleios - It's supposed to be a secret relationship, so, Celes will leave that up to the reader's decision. *EVIL GRIN*

Semryu - a cute redheaded elf who has a really good heart and cannot stand his father. Celes relied on him during her time in the "village must not be named." He works beneath Aleios.

Enraiha - Mysterious beauty? Celes thinks she might be someone important, but only like 50% sure. She's kind, to a point. She's got a sharp tongue and doesn't trust Celes. Enraiha doesn't like many humans, but she decided to give Celes a try because Aleios brought her home. (Celes would like to clarify that she is not a pet.)  She betrayed them for some reason, Celes would like to meet her again and find out why.
