All eight members of India and Juliet Squads from "The Road to Cydonia" my Ranma/X-Com fanfic.
From left to right
Juliet Squad:
Ukyou, Shampoo, Konatsu, Ranma
India Squad:
Ryouga, Mousse, Kuno, Ryu
For those who ask about Akane, and where she is, her subplot involves her working to get into the program on her own, where she ends up in a different squad. Plus I think the picture was already pretty ambitious with just 8 people in it...

why did you kill akari? what have you done! i mean, i realize that she is an obstacle, but.... you could move ryu to juliet squad to try to outshine ranma and move akario instead.

Akari's passing is a complex thing to answer "why" to - especially with what happens in Reflections Lost and the knowledge of how the aliens can make varieties of Trenchard.
I put the squads together basically thematically: India is all Ranma's enemies/frenemies/rivals. Ryouga at the time is only interested in picking up "single minded" people like himself. Ranma ends up with Ukyou and Shampoo because they're (rather chauvinistically) seen as "his responsibility." Konatsu is a gimme, as he's seen as the least problematic person on the entire roster. Both ultimately play to the strengths of their commanding officer. Juliet starts to shape up once Ranma starts to put his foot down and be decisive; India shapes up as the group of misfits start to realize they're stronger as a group than as individuals (all are basically loners: Mousse because of his blindness and because of his background, Ryu because of his personal quest, Kuno because of his quirkiness and aloofness, Ryouga because of his family curse).
I also try, over TRTC and RefLost, to give everyone (literally everyone) a chance to shine in some capacity.
