Well worth the trip, even for as short of time as we had.

About a week.
I still have many more photos to upload to my Flickr site (and some here), and at some point I'll be writing the day to day happenings from the trip in my journal.

Hard to find. The robots are all a lot smaller in Italy! LOL!

Even when buiding new stuff, they keep it very traditional in certain areas.

I'm just waiting for a Mini to drive through the shot though

It was funny. When the new Mini came out and came to the U.S., I thought it was a very cool car.
I still do. But it is much larger than the original Minis, (which we have seen many of in race car form at vintage races). I thought I would see more of the older Minis in Italy, which I did, but still saw plenty of the new ones.
What I loved were all the tiny Fiats and Citroens!
And gazillions of Vespas and the like.

Rome if you want to, Rome around the world...

heh. Lame.
Great shot - your framing of the locale is superior.

We partied massively with Kate Pierson at a frat party at Cornell University after a B-52s concert back in '82.

'Tis true. We had a punk fanzine at the time called "The Bone Hunter" We would call places up that were having concerts and try to weasel free tickets to the show (to review it) and try to set up meetings with the bands for interviews. We managaed a lot of both. When the B-52s played at Cornell, they said they could give us tickets but could not set up an interview. After the show, we followed the B-52s back to their hotel and managed to interview Fred Schneider in the lobby.
Also, we interviewed their horn players Ralph Carney and Dave Buck (who played with The Waitresses and also had their own band called the Swollen Monkeys). This was all in the hotel lobby. Then Kate and their manager (Matt) showed up in the lobby and said they were going back to the campus because they'd been invited to a frat party. We went along with them in their station wagon!

A fraternity house. Like Animal House.
I got to see the Pretenders in 1980.
Before any of them died.

Oh, so much color, and it looks so lovely. I want to go. Now, you've put an even deeper longing in me to see Italy. Lovely street, and I love the bright blue sky, good job.

And what's really cool is that even these little streets have automobile traffic on them!
There's a link in my journal to even more of my photos from Italy.
We had such a wonderful time!
