Description You can tell I'm a 90s gal, because the Onslaught story is still my favorite Marvel universe event. Of course, I haven't really read comics since the 90s....

Front features the heroes of the Marvel U (and DR DOOM!) taking on the fearsome Onslaught. On the back is little Franklin Richards, psychically trapped inside Onslaught's mind! What will happen to the poor little mite? Will no one think of the children?

Oh yeah. Marvel Premier hinged double-sided card from Upper Deck!

Oh wow, cool! So...what happens, and who's Franklin? I've never read the comics...

Franklin is the son of Reed and Sue Richards, and I guess he's some awesome Omega-level powerhouse. Somehow he frees Xavier from the psychic link with Magneto and gets Onslaught to power down ... or something? It's been a long time since I read it!

Oooooooh, I see, thank you. So...doesn't Johnny Torch, her brother, have any kids yet? Is this a "real universe" son, or "alternate universe" son like so many comics like to do?

I don't know...? Wait, didn't he briefly marry Crystal of the Inhumans? Or was that Quicksilver? Marvel relationships are so complicated!

But Franklin is the real main universe son of Reed and Sue, not a clone or a future alternate history timeline wibbly wobbly son.

That's one of the reasons I stopped trying to keep up with comics...so many "alternate universes" and "alternate storylines" and things being erased and ignored. Too much! I usually try to stay on top of the real universe storylines. But still, an amazing pic, I wish you all the best of luck with your art!

Great job! I worked on this set as well and I had a love/hate relationship with them. More space to work on is always great as well as the card stock but when you have to do both the front side and back side for these hinged cards under a deadline... yikes!

It was great to try something different but I'm sort of glad I'm back to working on single cards again

Thanks, man! I am with you, the deadline was pretty hellish. The next set I worked on was Batman, and it was really strange going back to small cards and thin stock!

This set would have been kinda fun to get on. I'm enjoying seeing what you created on these.

Thanks, Jon! Honestly, the challenge was great, but it was kind of more of a pain than it was fun. Oh well, it's nice to try new things.

Wait... you seriously did a multi-set that had--not 1, but 2--fully black cards? LoL. Or am I seeing this wrong.

Fully black? Do you mean the background? Because yeah, I'll cop to it.

Are those fronts and backs--the top row and bottom row? Or are those all fronts? Either way, I'm impressed--just thought it was funny. Heh.

Oh, I get what you're saying! No no, it's all one card, front and back, just four cards wide. Lol! That would be mean, otherwise!

LoL. NOW I gotcha. I didn't think they'd let something like that fly, but who knows? Heh. Again, nice stuff. Onslaught was about the last time I read anything either.

Top is front, bottom is back. Or vice versa. I'm not exactly sure, because supposedly they're getting folded before being inserted in packs. I'm really curious about how that's going to work!
