This started out as a doodle and I just kept going. I have no idea where it came from but I like it.That's about all I have to say.

Nah. I prefer originality in art, but even your fan art has a certain unique charm inherent in it. You're not just mimicking something, you are bringing something new to the table and likely that's part of the draw for some of your appreciators.
I know an artist (not on DA) who paints for a living. Her clients love for her to paint farm scenes with cute but realistic farm animals frolicking about.
But she longs to paint storm clouds
So she paints farms scenes with cute but realistic farm animals frolicking about... with brewing storm clouds in the background. It's a fantastic compromise and like you, everything she does is golden despite her compromises. 
And thank you for your encouraging words on my page. We all need to hear things like that from time to time, no matter our talent or lack thereof.
