I first started this picture in May of last year. I have been wanting to finish it since then but had never been in the mood. I *finally* finished it.
I am so, so happy with this outcome especially seeing as it didn't even take that long to do. I'm guessing around 6 hours. The character is a member of a race of people I've been imagining for a long time. For some reason, the name "Ikana" has always come to mind when I pictured this girl so that's what I'll officially call her. I have sketched a boy character, too. Anyway, this race of people live in barren deserty mountain regions. She's gone to sit out in the sun and watch for the arrival of someone she feels is coming. The creature asleep is her pet.

cool, i love oasis's and these ppl r really cool. if you dont mind, id like to draw them in a non chibi style. and if youd like some references i dont recommend looking at m page. i havent submitted anything in a long time and ive gotten better since my last entry.

Thanks! I actually imagined them to live in a sort of oasis city. Like, a big crater in the desert where the inside of the crater is an oasis type landscape.
