Man, sometimes I wonder whether this is officially a mental sickness of some kind because I swear I meet people like that once in a while too. Until I figure out the name, I'll call it hyper-anti-personal-space-auto-attention-contact-addiction...-know-it-all-never-shut-up. xD The "HI!" panel was awesome.

One of the most disturbing kinds of mental illness I noticed was something I think was called "auto-self-sadism" where the poor girl kept slapping her own face hard and uncontrolled every day, and you'd hear her scream through the neighborhood. Her face was always swollen too. :[

I've never heard of UNCONTROLLED self-abuse. Is it related to tourettes?

šŸ‘: 0 ā©: 1

JWiesner In reply to CAPTAIN-CAPSLOCK-PHD [2014-03-24 19:56:31 +0000 UTC]

Honestly, I've no idea. It's just what I've been told, and I completely believe it because the girl looks very unhappy and helpless. What's even sadder is that people that live with her (also therapist kind of people) got USED to it and kinda gave up on helping her, because they'd seriously have to tie her up to keep her from beating her face. :[ They just kinda shrug it off when she beats herself up next to them and screams in pain.

I've been raised around these freaks. They like to lean over you and grin like they're going to eat you.

Ugh....have that conversation everyday with anti pot legalization and homophobic old folk, because something about me yells gay, pot smoking heathen.....which is true minus the pot smoking. Also I can t leave work to avoid uncomfortable conversation.

I never understood why people feel the need to tell others their opinions of you. What do they hope to accomplish?

Getting spit in their food for one , and making themselves less pleasant to deal with would be another.

alex-weiss [2014-03-20 02:08:09 +0000 UTC]

Ugh. My favourite tactic with this kind of deal is to say "I don't speak English" in either Russian or Polish and shuffle away.

That is the moment when you slowly back away, then do a full sprint. No need for social graces or kindness; just leg it and do not turn back.
.
Unless they grab your wrist, like the salesman I had to deal with; that guy took the cake, the pie and the pot of coffee. He was trying to sell this weird nail polisher thing, and thought it would be a good idea to just grab my and us my hand for a demon. He also got really close when talking to me, after I said I did not have the money to pay for it.

holy crap, i had nearly the same experience! a salesperson at a kiosk in the mall! he did literally grab my wrist to started doing whatever it is they do to my thumb nail. i almost had a panic attack. i swear, if you recorded my vocalisations during this, you'd think it was the audio track from a torture film. "what...? wait.. don't... your... no i don't want... please you're.... " when i was finally released from his grasp, i nearly sprinted to the nearest restroom and washed my hands for like 10 minutes, not because the fellow was dirty, but because i don't like it when strangers touch me in skin-to-skin contact for an extended period like that. freaked me right the hell out. what is the training video they have these salespeople watch? i bet it's horrifying.

Jeez, that reminds me of the time I was working in a library and an old dude purposely stroked my hand while I was handing him a book. I scrubbed that hand in cold water until it was red.

I guessing it's called 'How to Invade Personal Space and still make Money. I sent the day just dulling down the one nail that was polished; it looked stupid and I just wanted the stuff off. I just wanted to pull away from the guy.

sometimes when i get stuck/forced into a conversation with someone, i try be polite and find a nice way to extricate myself. that being said, after that guy brought up TEH AIDS VIRUS i think i would have foregone all attempts at social graces and just gotten the hell outta there. nicely done, young sir. your course of action at the time is a valid one.

OminousHaze [2014-03-14 23:43:48 +0000 UTC]

That's creepy. o.o
I had my fair share of weirdos as well.
During my 1st year of high school, there was this lady(who was obviously mentally ill, bipolar maybe) who
verbally attacked me because she thought I was this person who beat up her daughter(she mistaken me for someone else
before IĀ  found out of my T status and changed my appearance)
It was a terrifying experience and I thought I was going to get my ass kicked but luckily nothing happened and an acquaintance helped me.

It is a quite terrifying experience. It caused me to become way more paranoid than I was before.
