Description When I got to work a while ago, there was a postcard on the desk I sit at with a picture of a girl in a kimono on it.

The day went very slowly, and I'd never drawn someone in a kimono before...

The girl on the postcard looked nothing like this - I just used reference for the kimono, and made the character up as I went along. It was only when I got half-way through it that I realised that she bears more than a passing resemblance to Haku from Naruto... Maybe she's his long-lost sister?

Umm... I guess it's mainly through practice? I've been asked if I'll do a tutorial on pencil colouring, sooo... maybe one day...

At one point I was tempted to add a Hidden Mist headband, but I resisted the urge...
Thank you! I loved drawing the kimono - from now on, all my characters are going to wear one! Or maybe not...

looks great. She's so happy! What's that muffin doing in her hair, or is it the world's smallest chef's hat? Probably some Japanese thing...

I think it is some oriental thing - Haku (the guy I think she kinda looks like from Naruto... he's very girly...) wears one, and so does Chun-Li from Street Fighter. I think there's actually a name for that hairstyle, but I can't remember any more. Possibly translates as 'World's Smallest Chef's Hat.'

...Actually, my brother informs me that it's called 'odango', as in dumplings. So not quite a muffin then, but close! You can ask him how he found that out...

I wouldn't want a dumpling in my hair... or hair in my dumplings for that matter...

Beautiful <3

Although I'm jealous that your scanner can pick up colored pencil so beautifully. Mine turns it into crap. D:

Thank you!

My scanner isn't too bad, but it does have this annoying tendency to auto-tweak everything, so the colours come out totally different to the original and you have to manually put everything back to normal... They're funny beasts!
