This was supposed to be for *Simatra 's werewolf contest, but that ended two days ago, so i missed out. It was to draw a werewolf explaining what it means to you and whatnot.

I always liked the classic stories of lycanthropy; the ones where it is somewhat of a curse: every full moon a normal human is transformed into a wolf-like creature to wreak havoc upon unsuspecting mortals; the curse is transferred by one being attacked but not killed by the wolf. Only someone that loves said person can kill them, but silver bullets are pretty effective.

Anyway, my version of a werewolf is a bit different than that. Mine are more wolf and less humanoid looking, with a long snout and furry tail. I do like the curse of the full moon, but my werewolves often have the ability to transform at will. Transformation is very painful the first few times, but it becomes bearable after a while, be it because the body is more used to doing it, or the toughness of the wolf form is transferred to the human as well.

I made mine brown because that is a classic color, but mine can be all species of wolves and therefore all colors. His eyes are golden, but i see them as keeping the eye color of the human form most times.

I have been trying to draw this guy for a while now, but he never comes out right. i think Simatra's contest is just what i needed to finally get it right, so even if i can't enter, i am still glad. ^^
