My mom and I are huge superhero fans, from Iron man to The Flash. I think the most credit to my love of supers is Superman himself, and this movie really puts him into more depth. No, almost all of his animated movies do. You realize he isn't just a stereotypical hero--he's a protector and a teacher for many.
My favorite hero is of course little ole Spiderman, (although he doesn't improve my arachniphobia) and every major Marvel hero you can think of, but Superman and his DC buddies are the root of my childhood.
Enough rambling, I enjoy this art! It really looks like it's out of the movie itself.

Damm i just watched that scene last night i knew before superman sometimes gets his butt kick because he holding back he always uses the least amount of force to defeat an opponent. but when he does stop holding back god help your soul, cause when superman let loose he is very scary

Exactly! That's why that movie means so much to me! And I LOVE Manchester Black, he's one of the best villains ever!

while i grow up watching dbz and i love goku i just realize that superman is a much more complex character than people give him credit for. superman overpowered and he knows it so he uses the least amount of force to fight, but when he does start let loose he is scary. i mean damm they wont be calling him boring after watching this movie

That is awesome, although I think Superman should get that eye looked at when this is over.

Great Piece!! I agree totally, Loved this film. To be honest this one's prolly one of my favorite dc animated films. The Elite were awesome, the animation and character design and overall stylewere mindblowing , Supes really kicked ass in it and it made one really consider the philosophy behind superman and what he stands for. Superman's not even one of my favrite heroes but I have and always will give him respect for what he stands for

haha amen to that brother!! To be honest it was actually kinda scary seeing supes get all demented like he was trying to put off. I honestly was freaking out and it made me laugh when Manchester says "This isn't you!! You can't do this" because it was exactly what I was thinking and hell, it was what anyone would think seeing superman go berserk. But that was the point and that is what superman was trying to get across abusing power is an ugly, and terrifying thing and it makes superman a bigger person knowing that he has so much much power and he CHOOSES to do the right thing

I first saw Superman vs. The Elite a couple of weeks ago. Blew me away. They should make a live action movie adaptation of What's So Funny About Truth, Justice and the American Way?

I like the collage in the back - it's so reminiscent of the opening titles of the movie.
What was cool about the movie (and I really really REALLY hate to admit it) is that it showed you WHY Superman holds back. I've always mentioned that Superman is a sissy, always whining about all this power and yadda yadda yadda (which he does get carried away whining about) and doesn't even use that power. Batman has commented on that on a number of occasions in "Superman/ Batman: Worlds Finest" and "Justice League" titles. This movie showed what he would be like if he lost it and gave into that power....and I actually found it frightening.
After the movie, I decided to start reading Superman comics. I read New 52 Issue 1 (New 52 is the greatest thing that DC has even done since "Crisis on Infinite Earths". I just have a problem with the damn prices). It was pretty cool - I saw his New 52 version in New 52 Justice League #1 and #2 and he was a serious problem with a serious temper problem. I was like "Whoa! Okay. Maybe he's not such a sissy." I then went aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaall the way back to "Man of Steel" to start modern day Superman and I am actually quite liking it - if it wasn't for my focus on playing catch-up with Batman, I would keep reading on. I actually got to know the character and started building some respect for him.
He CAN be too much of a boyscout, though. I wish they would get rid of that "Holier than thou" self-righteous trait of his. Just like Marvel did with "Cyclops" in the "Astonishing X-Men" title. After reading that title, within 5 issues, I COMPLETELY reversed my opinion that I've had about Cyclops since 1994 (Joss Whedon is so gangsta). Maybe that's why I like Batman: He's a pretty touched individual. He's got a line....but it's faaaaaaaaaaar further in to Superman and STILL he edges a liiiiiiiiiiiiiiiittle too close to it. He's so badass.

Yeh - it was a hell of a "Blast from the Past" when Capullo pitched up on Batman. At first, I questioned the fit of the style. Capullo's work is very grimy and has a touch of macabre in his artwork - but he fit this one very well and it was a refreshing break from the usual art. "Court of Owls" is turning out pretty awesome. I buy them digitally on the tablet and they cost $3.99 when they come out - the print copies are also $3.99. I'm not paying the same for digital as I am print so I wait for the price to come down to $1.99 (which happens after a few weeks) and then buy the comic. That's why I am so far behind.
