Hammer had planned to remake the Universe movie "The Invisible Man" from 1933, based on the H.G. Wells novel, with Universal approval. But while Hammer remade other movies with Universal’s grovel like the Mummy (1959) and the Phantom of the Opera (1962) the Invisible Man never materialised. I think the Invisible Man would have been a great fit for Hammer, not all was it another novel by a British author like Dracula and Dr Jekyll and My Hyde, but they could do a lot more with the location work and imagery like in the Horror of Dracula. I would love to have seen what Terrence Fisher would have do with the material or how Hammer would have adapted the book, there adaptations are known for being very loose, maybe they would have leaded into Hawley Griffin's darker side and being a merciless killer, something like the Invisible Man from 2020. You would have him be revealed in his invisible form being covered in blood. I think the natural choice for casting would be Christopher Lee as Hawley Griffin/the Invisible Man and Perer Cushing as Dr. Arthur Kemp.
