She's not supposed to be blonde though. Originally, yes, she was born with blonde hair - but she actually has Loki to blame for her dark hair. I'm not sure about the comics, but in Norse Mythology Loki cut off all of Sif's golden locks while she slept as a 'prank'. Ever since she has had dark hair. Definitely adds to the animosity between them.Ā

That's fair. The version of the tale I had read was that, through a series of tense yet hilarious machinations, she was able to have the dwarves make new golden hair for her.

Yes, indeed, the dwarves! However, this is once again Sif. I can't find any version with Freya, not online nor in the physical copy of Norse Mythology I own. Perhaps there is a version out there with her, as lots of stories do get lost on translation - but I feel like this is just a name mix up, and the stories you're thinking of are those regarding Sif.

So in character for all of them - Fandral looks like he's about to waggle his eyebrows suggestively, Sif looks, as ever, like she's about to kick arse, Thor's just a complete goofball and Loki's just bored of this crap.
