Merlin has so many horses. He doesn't actually seem to have his own like I thought he did, but then that's right because servants wouldn't really have a horse in them days xD.Images (c) bbc's merlin

I noticed that! Im not sure if its the same episode(the one where Arthur has to get married? Forgive me,I live in the US and have to watch online) but theres another horse related sploof-Arthurs chasing the princess and when he catches up with her hes on a different horse. xDD

I read an interview in one of the TV mags where the horse in mentioned. His name is Diablo I think. Great spot - I thought that was the horse in that episode but wasn't sure.

I know Diablo is Merlins 'horse' but I'm sure that wasn't him. Similar colors but after looking on the website that supply the horses, Diablo looks like he has both eyes, but I can't be sure.

Yeah, it's really hard to tell from the pictures they have up on the site. I'm just going by Colin's answer to a tvguide interview I read where they asked him if the horse having one eye had anything to do with the plot.

I've been around horses for a long time, I noticed it straight away. I knew a one eyed horse once, I always had to be careful and remember to talk to the horse whenever I went to its blind side so it would know it was me. One eyed horses are a bit creepy at first, but you do get used to it after a while. I think it's cool Merlin rode a one eyed horse,

There was a pony at my old stables that had only one eye, it was so cute. But yeah, same here

Isn't it kinda creepy when looking at a horse with a missing eye? This horse was pretty...but then it's like, whoa demon horse. 
I'm glad that an obvious disability didn't impede this horse from being used...most horses in the film/tv industry are selected for looks, especially if they are going to be in a prominent part.
One of the bays Colin rides in s2 was named Diablo...but I can't tell by the photos if it is the same horse. I'm not sure if they are using the same company... [link]

Yeah, He was riding this same horse in the first episode of the new series.
I saw Diablo a few months ago 
But at least they have used a horse because its willing, has talent and is more bombproof than just chucking it aside because its missing an eye.

I watched this again today, and my sister noticed the horse! I have nothing against the horse, I'm glad it has a career, but I'm surprised they used it

No, tbh I do actually think it only has one eye, the camera was on it on multiple shots but the eye was the same. Nevertheless, still a very pretty horse xD
