the lines everywhere and the line shading really give this pic some texture i can get a real 'feel' for the creatures' skin. i can imagine the texture of everything in the pic. i especially like the white border, because it makes the colour of the pic stand out even more. in that sense, it's better than extending the image to the edge. and the detail in the picture gives sense of this wild nature that i think the picture depicts.

yeah the wash is a bit quick, that quadriceps is unfinished and the bg is flat, but overall I'd say that your pen work is mastered.
