Description Here's some more practice painting in Photoshop. Yes, I know it is horribly flawed and that many areas look very frightening. I don't care anymore, however. I spent all day on this thing! The only reason the coloring is somewhat okay is because I relied on PrincessElemmiriel's colored version to show me where to place the hues and so forth (thank you!).

Here's a WIP version before I found it necessary to lighten her skin. Her hair is just too light colored to have the original darker skin: [link]

EDIT: Okay, it's slightly less frightening now. I darkened the lines somewhat--so it looks a little better. Apparently I'm not yet talented enough to get rid of the lines entirely. ...oh well. At any rate, it looks better than it did.

Also, enough people are saying "no, that actually looks good" to make me say this statement: Well, yes, so far this is my best Photoshop painting. I like it, and it's the best I've done so far--I just know that I can improve an awful lot ...That's all.

I used Photoshop. I'm sure there are better programs to use for digital painting, but I just used what was readily available to me.

I think "Painter" is supposed to be another really good program. A lot of people have made beautiful work with that.

I'm very much a beginner with that, too. I like to try it out digital painting occasionally, but my expertise lies more in traditional arts.

Good luck!

Totally awesome! I love soft colours you choose and the way you colour her skin, she looks gorgeous.

Thank you! I looked at your colored version as a MAJOR reference for mine--so if it looks good, it's only because yours did! ...and the awesome lineart helps, too. Your line-art was too pretty to pass up.

Thanks for drawing it.

Thanks... I guess I meant "flawed" in comparison to what SOME people can do (some people are freaking amazing with Photoshop!). This is my best line-art coloring so far, though, so I am improving somewhat.

Wow... that's quite a compliment. --thanks. I'm sure it's not better than anything you can do, though. Keep practicing and you'll just get better and better!
