No, you must be right. But your hamster does look very similar to a Chinese hamster.

What do you think then? Russian hamsters look similar to Chinese hamsters? I might be wrong.

they look really familiar, but the first thing I noticed was the difference in tails.
Russian hamsters have a cute white soft round ball as tail, when the tail of a chinese look familar to a mouse.

Thanks for the tip (though, we can't see the hamster's tail in your photo). I didn't think the tails were significant until you told me. I only look at the fur patterns.
