Description Just a slightly blurry pic of my Doctor Who figure collection as of today. Finally treated myself to the TARDIS interior playset and despite some flaws (lack of electronics, police box doors are just cardboard and don't open) it still makes a really nice and impressively large (so big I had to remove a shelf as didn't want it just stuck way up on the top of the bookcase being hard to see) display piece. The hatstand is just one I got off ebay as while their 'is' a hatstand in this set it's actually just a picture and part of the backwall cardboard I love that control console. It's so beautifully detailed.

The jacket on the hatstand is the Doctor's jacket from the Angel Bob figure and is meant to be held by the Angel but works nicely hanging off the hatstand too I reckon.

Well I live in the UK and as Doctor Who is our show, the merchandise is readily available from many stores. Says you live in Canada so I don't know if any of your stores stock them but you could try online sites that specialise in cult and sci fi merchandise. There's bound to be several who do sell Who stuff.

Thanks I've pre-ordered the Junk TARDIS playset and a couple Silents (one with no mouth and one with a big open mouth when killing someone)

Glad that you finally got your TARDIS playset. It really is quite spectacular.

I plan on using mine in a stop motion movie that I'm working on.

Well I said I'd buy it if I could find it for £20 and a max of £5 postage but I found it on ebay brand new for £25 with free postage so it's the same really and I thought ah hell with it, I've sold enough stuff to spare some money for that.

The stock photos really don't give a good scale of just how big this thing is. Took me a little while to assemble it. The trickiest bit being insert the cardboard pieces into all the relevant tabby lil bits which can be awkward.

and YAY I own a Doctor Who toy that you don't have. Finally!

Heh yeah. I may get a second Eleventh Doctor and hope Idris comes out and place them both on the Junk TARDIS almost permanently. I heard Uncle might get a toy too. If Auntie then gets a toy as well it might be possible to re-enact the whole of that episode haha. Hm, use the light from a green bulb lamp as House

I read that was just the stock photo figure they use and the same one on the back of the Eleven Doctors box set (the hair is different to the figure in the box).

I spoke to the girl who designed the Junk TARDIS on twitter. I don't think she gets a percentage of the sales as the competiton rules stated the winning design belongs to the BBC but I did suggest she can just walk into any toy store, take one and show her ID and point at the name on the box She gets a free one anyways but she says she's gonna buy some more to put around her house. Cute.

Lame. Now if your surname was actually Who and you became a proper Doctor with a doctorate and all that then it's less lame. Well, less lame than changing your first name to Doctor anyways.

Your collection made me think: has the Doctor ever gone back in time to visit one of his previous versions?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Carnivius In reply to avancna [2011-05-25 16:02:53 +0000 UTC]

He's encountered past versions of himself several times. The TV stories 'The Three Doctors', 'The Five Doctors', 'The Two Doctors' and 'Time Crash' are all the televised multi-Doctor stories I can think of. He likes to bicker with himself occasionally. The Second and Third Doctor would be insulting each other and get told off by the First Doctor (who is physically older but chronologically the youngest so it seems a bit strange)
