The thing that most people fail to understand with oil's is that with layers of paint you can build such a 3D affect, your pencil work is amazing because it does the same thing I just think you would excel with oils, your drawing look as if they would , no that's not right your drawing looks as if YOU would fit with oils if you see what I mean

again really beautifull. I agree with you, changing to colour adds more feelling to a drawing. I love the details of her dress, and her blowing hair gives the fantasmagoric sensation that I thing you wanna show with this.

Another lovely drawing
Have I told you that you've been inspiring me to work with pencils lately? So, thanks for being so inspiring.

I find that I need to adjust the contrast in photoshop after scanning, the highlights seem to get lost for me during the scan. And I have a thing lately for changing the pencil colour ... I've yet to turn one green, but it's only a matter of time.

Thanks for the advice, yeah it's the subtleties I'm losing. I've also been using an off white paper which I think probably adds to the problem.

You're welcome. I use Bristol Board a lot; it puts up with me taking an eraser to it over and over, and it's lovely and white

No, it was produced over several days. I started it Thursday or Friday, and then worked on it throughout my shifts at work on the weekend (it's a quiet job) and then I finished it on Monday. The things I did to it on Monday were a bit rushed, so I spoiled the hand a bit.

There's nothing particularly wrong with the hand - it's just more sketchy than the rest of the drawing, which has a smoother, blended look. But it's still great

Thank you. I did some last minute work on the eyes to make them bigger, I'm glad I did as they ended up darker and more emotive.
