Was in the mood to take a crack at speedpainting again so I found a great color reference and went at it. Not the most stunning result, but nice to loosen up a bit. I'll try and do this more often...Someone once told me that a speedpainting was essentially an unfinished painting... which means that all the information is there minus the polishing. I think nailing this could really help me in the long run...

thanks. And yeap pretty much. I find it lacks a bit of depth, but I have a lot of practice to do to improve interpreting things simply... hopefully over the break!

I was gonna suggest a little more atmosphere where the forms push back, but I didn't know how far you wanted to take it being that it's just a quick sketch.. the depth still reads, but some edge play could help push it further back.. If I could also suggest some notes of other colors, too?

absolutely. I feel I have so much to learn about environments since I've always focused more on characters... if you have good references or sources, do share

Some people do really intense works in that time, like "warming up" for work and make a whole bunch of them. I'm not one of those though haha... I've just tried speeds a couple of times... I might give it a try more often in the future though. Just for the fun of it I guess

yeah i think i forget how good it is to get into 'study' mode for a while. I might not post anything in a while because of it... but the next thing i make should be stronger
