LORE: In the world of No One's Tower, creatures with fantastical powers take many forms, one of the most peculiar being the Dream eaters/ demons. Able to invade and manipulate their target's dreams, the dream eaters/demons only seem to manifest when someone is dreaming, their form appearing only inside the dreamer's mind. Perhaps dreams act as the home dimension of these demon types. These demons have their power proportional to the magical properties of the target. The difference is exponential, so humans have at most sleep paralysis, and magical beast can even die in dreams. If we were to quantify one's magical properties, humans would be somewhere between 0 and 2, thus most humans fall in the sub unitary category, making them a bad target for dream eaters.

Dream catchers originated as part of cyclop culture as dream demons are a great threat to the cyclop species. Many cyclops present strong magic properties with little control of said powers, which in turn makes them especially vulnerable to dream demons. Dream catchers act as special seals against dream demons, similar to a bait-and-switch trap. Dream catchers are treated as artifacts and only few artisans can create them. The higher the quality, the longer it will prevent dream eaters from invading one's night .
