I really really Love this Ariel cosplay! But it has been bugging me a bit. Did you make the shirt? It's perfect! If so, what pattern did you use?

I did make the shirt but I didn't use a pattern. I know how to make a lot of patterns off the top of my head. Sorry I can't be of any help!

I love the wig and costume! Did you make the costume? Also, where did you get the wig?

you did a really good job on this costume! its beautiful!

i've been thinking of making this dress myself and was wondering if you used a pattern or not? i'm just not sure how to proceed with the corset is all so if you have any tips i'd be so thankful!

Mine isn't a corset and no I didn't use a pattern, I used my dress form and my own knowledge of pattern making. The 'corset' part was made on my dress form first and then I fitted it to myself. I made it in panels, so there's a centre panel at the front, four side panels (two each side), and one back panel, (there's a zip in the side). Try to get it as fitted to your shape as possible. If you don't have a dress form, its best to try and get a pattern, look for one that has a bodice top, this one is good [link] and is the right shape for the 'corset'.

Hope that helps! I'm not very good at explaining!

Unfortunately I had a friend buy me the material :S (she lives near a better fabric shop than me) and I'm not too sure what the material for my skirt is (it reminds me of lycra without the stretch if you know what I mean). But I do know that the 'corset' is polycotton, I originally wanted to make it from velvet, but I'm glad I went with something a bit simpler. The shirt is a heavy duty cotton or linen
