Yeah, I would expect Sam to get out of the goth trend once she teaches motherhood, because makeup takes money, which she needs to spend on to take care of her kid.

She still not 100% out of it in my head canon and she does wear makeup. But she doesn't doll up like she use to, more like events or just wants to look nice.

Oh, I wouldn't think. Her grandmother wasn't 100% out. She was only out enough to put her children first. She is living under her kid's roof, so she is hiding her goth part of her out of respect for her kids. I wouldn't doubt that when Sam's mom or dad was living with her grandmother, she was wearing more dark.
