I still dont get those kind of render results out of apophysis.

Well i do a lot of post processing too in photoshop..adding the starfields, changing colors and hues,..finding this kind of fractal is not hard, recognizing it's potential is what takes a good eye and patience. Thanks!!!!

Thanks for the pep talk. Just as I posted that I found (one I think will be perfect)a decent fractal. It just takes a practiced eye to know the difference before rendering it.

This is amazing
what programs do you use to make this

Thanks! I use Apophysis, photoshop and a couple of plugins.

about how long does it take you to make one of these

Casperium In reply to E-Borges [2009-01-24 08:50:56 +0000 UTC]
It depends, if you don't count render time for the fractal (usually 2-2 for render) then it can take between 1-2 hours depending on complexity and layers... most of the time 1 hour..

Thanks!!! This is actually smaller than the original size, I had to shrink it or it would be too big to upload!

My Goodness this is good. Nothing but the best. Awesome.
Reading Software manuals (for grins). Had to Fav it - of course.
I have several fractals (from fractal programs done) working on post work (or is that pre posting work? lol), the learning curve on the software makes me crazy.
Might see if you can help me with the export stuff for posting after rendering locks up and goes no where. I have closed and restarted to clear cashe and memory buffer and still does not always finish rendering. It did fine yesterday. Apophysis regular, 2.02, and their 3D hack. Still do not live Untral Fractals (if I could safely hack the code it would be come easier to with some tweeking- Ha!)

I had to change my virtual memory (I have duo core - with 2 gigs) could take my works to my son's screaming computer I helped build this xmas. I configured and decided on the upgrade form the previous computer version (I have now built 4).
I did not have enough resource handlers (Virtual memory changed to max on both HD- in writing script it shuts down do to lack of resources (or over heating this is not over clocked) - turned down the graphics to not over use the resources. Will probably expand the memory in here to 4 gig from 2 gigs.
I also just got a external hard drive to move these large files around.
Laurie
The programs are comming along. Slowly I really want to take the best of both and combine. HAA

Well memory is definitely a key, apophysis is a hog! Let me know if and when you need help with setting for Apohysis and I will help.
