Name meaning: "Small" in Dutch and Afrikaans (and maybe German, idk? I need to check)

Personality: Klein is manipulative and cunning, looking for every opportunity to prove Keiichi as unfit to be King so he can be the King himself. He's caused trouble and had Keiichi framed for it and exposed Keiichi's weaknesses in hopes that his father will see him to be a more fit King. He doesn't care if he's not the King of Inkopolis, as long as he isn't forever known as a Prince or a Prince Consort, he's happy. Sadly for him, his parents see little past his scheming and manipulative nature so he likely won't be King unless a monarch is de-throned and there are no heirs to take over.

Backstory: Perle and Keiko decided to try for a daughter after they had their son Keiichi, but the second time they tried, they ended up having another boy. Keiko was perfectly fine with the result but Perle was disappointed as she knew that there would be a rivalry between the two brothers as whoever didn't become King would remain a forever prince, even if he ran away and married a Queen (or if homosexuality was allowed in the monarchy, a King) somewhere else. She tried to assure him that he still had a purpose regardless of where his place was, but that didn't hold well with Klein as he felt he was somehow unwanted in the Royal Family tree as he knew Alleen could still be a Queen Consort if she was married to a King, but the title of King Consort was only widely accepted if the King himself was a monarch in one territory and a consort in another (as Matriarchy within the Royal Family where Kings can either be sovereigns or consorts is a really ancient idea in Inkopolis and other areas in Splatoon) so male consorts who were not sovereigns elsewhere were titled "Prince" to avoid criticism from the commoners. Klein didn't want to be a forever prince, so he started trying to de-fame Keiichi in turn to de-throne him when it was Keiichi's time to rule.
