Ultra fractal 4 .04

Back to basics really, only a few layers and used the standard colouring methods I like the way it came out, all frosty. Hope you like too

Appreciating older works:

Featured here:  Happy Midwinter Yule Solstice Longest Night! It's that time of the year...the shortest day is Dec 21, 2018 ('the season is the reason').
Here are some lovely older works (some almost a decade old on dArt!) from my olde collection: "Yule Koliada"

Here's an explanation:

And what it may have looked like thousands of years ago at Stonehenge, in England:

Many different traditions exist to celebrate Yule (a Scandinavian word) depending on the country you are in,
but most folks, "Deck the halls with boughs of holly...Don we now our gay apparel...As we sing the Yuletide carol...."
Also Yule logs, and/or buche de noel cakes:

Very cool. Literally. I saw an episode of "Nova" on PBS recently about fractals. Very interesting....and I totally hate math stuffs.

Thank you so much I must say fractal is a very nice form of maths, you don't need to calculate anyhting if you don't want to, you just put in random numbers in the different formulas in the programs and voila, you have a fractal

CreedsGalBirdy In reply to CassiopeiaArt [2008-12-02 20:56:42 +0000 UTC]

You make it sound so easy! On that television program it sounded a lot more complex...but I guess that was because fractals were discovered? invented? before computers....so it just looks very complicated.

CassiopeiaArt In reply to CreedsGalBirdy [2008-12-02 22:31:59 +0000 UTC]

It truly IS easy! You can even try some free programs to test it if you feel like it! I can recommend the trial version of Ultra fractal, I find that one the best! And even if it seems daunting at first, just check out some tutorials and you'll be doing fractals in no time
