My neighbor has screech owls nesting in her wood duck box. This is the dad and one of the three owlets. I was surprised he let me get so close (about 3 feet away from the box) and did not dive bomb me since this was his face the whole time I was taking photos. I didn't linger long because of his wrath.

I know ! They fledged shortly after this photo was taken, but I still got to see them.Β

My Dad has that same look, strangely enough.
Very cute--I love owls, but we don't get many in our neighborhood (they only pay brief visits). That you have them nesting nearby is impressive.

That's probably what they were thinking. I seriously thought the dad was going to dive bomb me, he sorta pushed the owlet further back into the box and glared at me intensely for 15 minutes until I stopped XD

That reminded me, my previous neighbor kept Koala as his pet and chewed just about anything. That stare reminded me of the Koala, which my neighbor strangely named as "Vodka" -_-
