I have always been fascinated by the confrontation of Aphrodite and Hades. In Greek mythology this doesn't really happen. But Aphrodite also had previous "incarnations" , like Ishtar in Akkad and Inanna in Uruk. Both descend into the underworld. They do not meet Hades, but the story is worth reading. Wikipedia can help you.
In my opinion, Inanna resembles more the original Aphrodite, the Goddess that sprang from the drops of blood that fell into the sea when Chronos (Saturn) castrated his father Ouranos (Uranus).
The sometimes annoying girlish manners she is described to have had probably sprang from the -later- male-dominated Greek society.
