Zephyr Breeze wasn't a quiet baby. Fluttershy didn't quite understand it, but while Zephyr doesn't cry a lot, he is easily amused and laughed a lot. His laugher is quite possibly the first thing to ever ring through the hallways of the ever silent Shy-household. Zephyr loves pulling faces, loves throwing his food everywhere and loves flying up to high places simply to knock objects off shelves and tables. He would get toys out and everywhere. He would leave the front door open and allow the rain to get in. He would do whatever he wishes to, and nopony would ever step up and tell him no.

One day, after causing a particularly chaotic mess in the kitchen, Zephyr's parents shooed him and his elder sister out of the kitchen for them to proceed with cleaning and returning order into the room.

Fluttershy found herself sitting alone in the kitchen, a small colt in her hooves, wrapped securely in a tiny blanket; wings safely tucked in.

Ever since his birth, Fluttershy couldn't understand him.

Her only friend; Rainbow Dash, was an only child. There was no pony else she could ask concerning the recent addition into the family. It wouldn't make sense to ask Rainbow Dash for advice. Even her own parents seemed to treat it all like it was no big deal. Like they'll come to learn to grow with it soon enough.

But Fluttershy felt lost.

"What should I do?" She asked the colt quietly, bending down for her forehead to lean against her brother's. Dark pink eyes simply looked up at her curiously in response.

"I'm a big sister now..." Fluttershy continued. "I don't know how to be a big sister."

Zephyr giggled at that, pressing a hoof into Fluttershy's left cheek.

"Mommy says I'll learn. Will you teach me how?"

Another giggle emmited from the colt, causing Fluttershy to smile.

There are times when we just feel like we're failing in the older sibling department
Sometimes we just gotta keep trying
Sometimes we just gotta give the little ones a chance to grow on their own
Sometimes... the best we can do is to never give up on family
