Story:

Duchess had won here. Red was bloody notorious, quite literally, but he’d never lost either. Argo was taking part in the hurdles for the first time ever and now, in Skyy Ridge’s first G1 race, Fox was making an appearance.

Fox had a stride unlike any horse Antrium had ever seen. He far outshone his father and mother and rivaled his ancestor, Devil Wears Prada... but he did not have her skill for controlling his stride. Recently he was becoming infamous for tripping and falling, somehow miraculously avoiding injury. Freya had said their trainings were becoming 50/50 for whether he’d fall or not.

The hood helped, it seemed. Fox was so easily distracted that it was becoming a necessity, even if, when coupled with the noseband, it was almost as though he were running blind.

This race, though, would be a show.

Fireworks boomed overhead, something Fox adored. Fox had always loved fireworks, he would chase them when he was a baby, as though he had a hope of actually catching them. They were exciting and bright and colourful and he loved them.

And during this race race they were everywhere.

Keeping Fox’s head on the actual track was neigh impossible, he just couldn’t stop looking at the pretty lights that seemed to be sending cheers for him all their own. As of late the white colt often ignored his human’s hand commands, lost in his own world and it was always his downfall - literally - and now it seemed as though he was doomed to fall again.

Except this time his inability to listen didn't end in disaster.

As though he were but a babe once more he suddenly burst into life, his stride lengthening into that famous Devvie Stride, long legs eating up the dirt after the explosions again. Any ground they may have lost from his distractions was covered and passed, the sound of his hooves imitating the cracks displayed by the fireworks.
