Description My november submission for Endangered Art Project 2012 [link]

Markhor (Capra falconeri):
"With its spectacular twisting horns, the markhor is one of the most striking of goats, and owing to its size, also one of the most imposing. The colour and length of the coat varies with the seasons, with the short reddish-grey summer coat becoming longer and greyer over the cold winter months. In addition to the prominent horns, which can reach up to 1.6 metres, the stocky male has a black beard and a shaggy mane of long dark hairs that hangs down from the neck. The female is shorter, more slender, and has comparatively small horns, reaching only 25 centimetres in length" from here [link]

Endangered because of hunting meat and for its horns

I am favorite-ing a lot of your pieces and in many of them, in your description, you seem rather critical or maybe a little embaressed.  "The face isn't quite right" or "I need to practice more" or whatever.  Someone once told me that the reason many very talented artists are crushingly critical of their own work is because they have a well developed aesthetic.  They have thought a lot about what makes a piece interesting, what makes it striking, what makes it great.  They have high standards.  They have become a connoisseur.  That very picky taste, that developed aesthetic, is what makes their art great, but it is also what makes them pick apart or undervalue their own work.  Sometimes I can create a great painting that has great movement, great color, but all I can see when I look at it is how I got the proprtions on the hand wrong. Don't be too hard on yourself, too harsh of a critic.  Your art is fucking fantastic.  You have a great aesthetic going on, a knack for creating and holding the viewers interest, a great eye for composition.  Also, just because one aspect of a piece is not perfect does not mean it cannot be a striking, interesting fantastic piece.  Of course being critical of your work may be what pushes you to practice or improve, so thats good.  I am rambling but wanted to say something in case this is something you haven't already heard.  I am really enjoying browsing your work.  I think it is beautiful.

Hi, I'm really happy that you like my style and artworks! It's always so nice to read or hear

Am I critical? I guess I am and you are so very correct about having high standards... But it doesn't bother me, I mean it's not making me sad or feel talentless (if that word exist) when I don't like my work or I don't feel it's good enough, because I really believe in constant improvement and every piece is moving forward a little bit

Thank you again for speaking so highly about my works! And your whole comment is very supportive and I cannot agree more with what you said about making piece interesting even when it has errors. Two or three past years I've been learning art in art school (as a hobby) and every session I look at mine and others' artworks and I often am captured by a piece even if it's not perfect... Lately I also learned that the key to be confident in one's artistic abilities and at the same time to spot shortcomings and improve is just to see a lot of art. Art of not only more and but also less experienced artists - it sets amazing perspective of what was and can be achieved. I think that a lot of people looks only at art of really great artists and then they are frustrated that they can't immidiately paint or draw perfect things too.

I hope you'll come visit my gallery soon and I will have something new posted

I think I saw one of these on the Discovery Channel once (I recognize the horns)....
You did a great job on this. The contrast between the cool colors of the background and the warm colors of the Markhor is beautiful.
Excellent work!

I am also greatly like the blue color, but I think that the best tinge of blue is Azure. As a calm ocean

Pierwsza to (oczywiście) Bafomet. Mimo tej całej draki z inkwizycją całkiem spoko z niego koleś.

Trzeci to koza -albo możliwe i prawdopodobne też że był to 'ten' kóz - który drzewiej temu pożarł mi znaczną część jeansowej kurtki i nawet nie pogardził metalowym guzikiem.
