This happens to be one of my most favourite ever pictures. I wear it in several chats and on my blogs. I love all the colours you have given her but her lips are just far too red for my taste. Indeed, in her culture, lips that red are only found on ladies for hire. Otherwise, the richness of the fabrics is just beautiful.

i wasnt really going for cultural accuracy when i painted her, more what i felt would stand out. but i appreciate your critique, i hadnt thought of the cultural implications the colors i had chosen would have!

Sybilla is the first of its kind i ever made and the one i am most proud of. unfortunately, i get much more recognition of Glamour, which i strongly dislike.

Are you telling me no one commented on that piece? I find that hard to believe. You took the original black and white and made the image your own through your expertise. You took a non-existent image and made it into a strikingly powerful one. Great job!
