I believe that you are confusing "animal rights" with "animal welfare".
here is a definition "Animal rights proponents support laws and regulations that would prohibit rodeos, horse racing, circuses, hunting, life-saving medical research using animals, raising of livestock for food, petting zoos, marine parks , breeding of purebred pets and any use of animals for industry, entertainment, sport or recreation. Animal rights proponents believe that violence, misinformation and publicity stunts are valid uses of funding donated to their tax-exempt organizations for the purpose of helping animals. Arson, vandalism and assault are common tactics used by underground animal rights groups to further the animal rights cause. so basically, animal rights would allow animals to vote, and people would never be able to have pets, or eat any type of animal meat.
animal welfare would allow animals to be hunted FOR FOOD, and have animals kept as pets, service dogs, etc.

Because animal rights also means that animals have the right to LIVe. And the right not to be abuses or treated like products

People who say animals are dumb are pretty stuoid themselves.
Like one time I was sad and crying in the backyard. When my dog, Kidria, saw me she sat right beside and looked straight into my eyes. After a few seconds she put her head on my lap and started whimpering too. She clearly understood that I was sad and was trying to comfort me. She's the sweetest dog I've ever met

Dogs are very smart. They, like most other animals, can totally pick up on the feelings of their owners. I went to an alpaca farm, and when I got to walk an alpaca, one of the owners of the farm told me to be very calm, since they would pick up on any stress I had.
