He does, starting in season 3. ^_^ They replaced the clip of the Gummis having tea with the dragon with a clip of Gusto riffing Gruffi. (Thank you, YouTube.) Still, not everybody has seen that.

Also, I should have perhaps been more specific. Gusto does not appear in the group shot at the end of the opening right before the title card. They never did that over, even after Gusto was introduced.

Quite sure, though I forget exactly when the opening switched. It might have been in the middle of season 3, or beginning season 4.

You are, however, entirely correct that he doesn't appear anywhere else in the opening titles, ever. Which is a shame, but what can you do?

I have seen something like four different title sequences for the Gummi Bears show, depending on the year and the source. The Disney Channel version, for example, is NOT the same as the one offered on the DVDs. But these different openings are all just re-editing of little clips of footage. As far as I can see the only real dedicated animation was for the title-card groupling, and Disney never re-commissioned that final group shot for the title card after Season One, even if the title card itself was changed for the DC. Studios, man. Who can figure them?

Silly girl. You linked to the Disney Channel version of the opening, above. The one with Gusto in it, that lacks the clip of Cubbi riding the wolf, and with the final title card that is brighter than the one on the DVDs.
