Would you rather your dog become aggressive and defiant?

Da. I had a pitbull who I got from the animal shelter (he was not trained) and I was scared of being mean to him if I tried to "train" him. I basically le him go and a few months later he practically tore open my arm when he ATTACKED me. We had to give him up TT^TT
TRAIN YOUR DOGS AS SOON AS YOU CAN.
I don't wnt anyone to lose their dog because they don't want to be seen as animal abusers..
I miss you Lucas

Exactly. Control your freaking mutt. No matter how hard it can be, it needs to be trained in order to be kept sane.

I support every well-trained dog. I personally really dislike dogs and I don't differ between Chihuahuas and Pit Bulls, they are all just mutts for me. And I don't care what breed it is, if it's not trained properly, it is dangerous.

Oh yes, all dogs can be dangerous. My friend has a little corgi mix who was kicked and abused by the people who used to babysit him. He bit my thumb and left a scar. It hurt like hell, and he tried to attack my leg. He's big for a corgi and could leave a lot of damage. It's not just big dogs that are dangerous.

Of course not, every dog can be dangerous. This little fellow seems to have suffered a lot what makes him more likely to be aggressive, especially out of fear

I decided to volunteer at a pets charity about helping animals so I sighned up for the dogs go walking. And when I was walking the fluffy Newfoundland (So hard to control.) A monster truck by and the dog went crazy so Ib quickly tugged at the leash trying to calm him and some randomers shouted: "Stop! Your hurting him! You shouldn't have taken him here!" Ok so i get why people would say this but sometimes to find the limits of a dog you must do things that push the dog but, that doesn't mean it hurts them! This leash was also especailly made for the breed and I think people need to stop thinking they are all little kids!

Dogs need to be disciplined, especially in dangerous situations so that those situations don't get out of hand, but people fail to see that. I'm surprised how many dog owners have absolutely no idea what their dogs are actually doing and are not able to understand their behaviour, it's scary

Dog lovers make me cringe with disgust, I'm so sick and tired of dog worshippers letting their dumb mutt do whatever the hell it like to without a care in the world! for god sake keep your stupid dog under control! always have it on a lead, pick up it's crap and tell it to shut the hell up when it's barking it's freakin' brains out!
Whenever there's a dog attack in the news, theres always some twats using the same old "it's not the dog's fault" or "the dog had a poor past" excuses! oh shut up it IS the dog's fault, cos if you remove the dog, the attack wouldn't had happened in the first place! screw you lame dog lovers! one of my rescue rabbit had a poor past and he didn't go biting the crap outta me, plus my uncle's 5 cats are all from a rescue home and they don't go around attacking people, they're calm, friendly and mind their own busniess.
Dogs are more trouble than they're worth, heck I've even seen some dog owners looking all gloomy, pissed off or shouting swears at their dog whilst walking it, if they don't even like the dog, had it put down, do us dog haters a favour, less dogs the better! I had to quit my newspaper job some years ago, cuz I got so fed up with dealing with people's damn mutts(and the disgusting smell!). the next time a dog comes to attack me or my pet, I won't hesitate to kick the crap outta it and sue it's stupid owner too. keep your damn dog away from me!

technically it isn't the dog's fault, since it doesn't know any better, that's like scolding a baby for speaking nonsense, it doesn't know better. Some individual dogs just happen to be more trusting and others have mental problems and post traumatic stress disorder.
Well what you went through is bad ownership. Not all dogs smell extremely bad to the point where you have to quit your job, if it is well taken care of.
If you get attacked by a dog hit it's head/neck hard enough to make it yelp, making it let go of you, then hold the dog or something. If you can't do anything than sit on the dog or something (lol). There is a difference between abuse and self protection. If a cat scratches me and bites me, i'm not going to beat the crap out of it. I'm going to Hit it so it gets off and hold it by the scruff.
Remember, It's okay not to be a dog person, but please do educate yourself before you say anything rude about the animal itself.
"no such thing as bad dogs, but bad ownership."

You forget that cats can attack other animals and people. Cat's are predators and in fact, cats are harder to train than dogs are since cats are mostly independent.
Why do you think it's a bad idea to leave a cat with a bird or another small animal? Cat's instincts are to kill. Do you even know what cats are meant for or even do when they are in the wild or what they did when they were first trained by humans?
By the way you talk about dogs and loving cats, you're just as bad as dog lovers. Blinded by your love of certain animals and by the hate of another type of animal. Same concept just with the love animal and hated animal switched!
Humans attack animals and people, does that mean we should get rid of all humans? Course not! Cats attack birds, ferrets, rabbits and other small creatures because of instinct. They're hunters. Should we get rid of all cats? No! Dogs are the same. They are an animal. A living thing just like a cat, just like a bird, just like a person!
Please stop getting blinded by both your love and hatred. It just makes you look no different than what you despise and look like an uneducated animal worshiper.

I know how you feel, I totally agree. Dogs require a lot of work and care, you have to realize and accept that BEFORE getting a mutt. If you can't handle the work and responsibilty, get yourself a more fitting pet or leave it be.

Did you read the artist's comment? It's about obedience and the simple everyday training you simply need if you keep a dog. Most dog owners I know don't train their dog at all, they let them run around without caring about what they need or if they harm anybody

I really wish my sister understood this.
She's got a 100 pound coonhound thing (I don't really know his breed exactly. We were told coonhound but he seems really big for one). She spoiled it. She calls him her child because she bottle fed him at 2 days old so it's some ~speshul connection~ (and when my nephew does something to the dog, even minor like tell him to stop barking, she says "Don't mistreat you baby brother!"). I wish I was joking. She's 31.
But the big issue is this dog's behaviour. He mauls you over food so we always eat in our rooms or lock him up in his room (she refuses to let him outside ever. so yes, this giant monster of a beast is purely indoors. And yes, she picks up his giant heaps of poo everyday and sometimes he marks and disregards the puny peepad, but don't you dare reprimand him. She'll rip your head off.) He has a massive prey drive. He's protective on his stuff. He's bitten and drew blood on us. " Learn to not eat around him and you won't have any problem." how about freaking teach your dog to not bite your arm for your subway sandwich? How about teaching him that racking his claws over your face is wrong? Ugh it infuriates me how bad she ruined her dog's behaviour. He had so much potential... He would have been better off with a real and educated owner. If you can't train a dog properly you don't deserve one. Her dog is dangerous. He's bitten us. He's bitten her kid's hand over food. Yet we get the "He doesn't know any better" speech. I'm dreading the day he maims someone...

You should really get him spayed. If they are then start going to Pets at home dog training. Also tell your sister it's a hunting dog It NEEDS exercise, otherwise it will be fat and tell her if she wants what is best for the dog she should train it and feed it less!

Oh wow... My ex-boyfriends parents had a dog similar to this but not that extreme. And they also refused to let her out (except for the tiny garden).
It's not only that she refuses to let her giant dog out and train it, she has to be aware of the fact that her beloved darling could be put to sleep if it keeps attacking the children or anything worse than 'just biting' happens. How can people put their mutts over their own children?!
